Spending some time in the countryside of Tuscany… in other words, our vacation at home!
Tuscany is a varied region, with many different interesting areas, each with its specific character and features. Here is a very quick presentation of what travelers can see in the Siena and Grosseto provinces.
The pretty colours of the Tuscan countryside, the little discoveries, a pleasant walk…
My favourite street in the city: beautiful buildings, an imposing medieval church, excellent restaurants, popular pubs, very interesting locals, and several peculiar stores.
It is not always true that the off-the-beaten-path attractions in a city are smaller or more modest buildings. The imposing Church of San Francesco is hardly included in self-guided tours of Pisa, let alone the guided tours. Yet it is one of the most beautiful churches in Tuscany, with a wealth of treasures to discover and enjoy.
Words matter. Going slow and local travel should not just be catchphrases. But could it be that going local is already a fashion rather than a well-considered travel choice? Can we expect to see more and more people look for local while expecting global?
This blog is written by a born and bred Tuscan who wishes to share her love for this region with as many people as possible. It's about living here, but also about travelling, learning, experiencing, and enjoying life in Tuscany.
It's about feeling at home in Tuscany.
A wonderful opportunity for the independent traveller seeking privacy and a pleasant atmosphere
