Sunset in Tuscany

Day 4 of the 31 day photo challenge is dedicated to “light”. This time I had the perfect photo. I love taking pictures of the sunset when I am at my parents’ place in the countryside. The countryside of Tuscany is awesome, no need for false modesty. And sunsets in Tuscany are (almost) always romantic, and spectacular.

I loved the effect of the sun going down behind the hills of the Maremma.

We were driving home, after a day out at the farm, with the kids. They are never happy when we stop in the middle of the road because mummy needs to take yet another photo of whatever uninteresting stuff she takes picture of! But this time, they too were in awe. The light was just perfect.

Unfortunately, I am not a good photographer, and I only had my phone, so the photo doesn’t do justice to the actual beauty of the sunset. But I still love this photo.

Wow! Probably the most amazing sunsets which I hope to experience soon! When is the best time of the year to go there?

    • I love May, but the most scenic sunsets are usually in summer

  2. I have heard about it very much, this place is now on my bucket list and after my visit to Rome this is the next. But I am thinking that as you said the best time to visit Tuscany is in summers so is it well if I visit in January?.

    • Different, that’s all. I hate the heat, so I don’t mind January at all. it can be a bit miserable. It’s the coldest month of the year with February. But the climat is changing so much which is hard to make predictions.

  3. Dear Gloria,
We love your website and blog and have put a link to it in our site in the DRIVE IT section, because your site is the most informative about ZTL and though we cover it briefly we think it needs a better, more informed explanation so we put in your link. We have travelled round Italy many times and love your people and all the different regions and it’s foods.
This year we decided to start a blog about our travels and to encourage people to roam, especially now that sadly our country seems to be wanting to distance itself from Europe.
We would like to keep a link to your website. Is this alright with you? It would be helpful to us to have a reciprocating link from yours. As you will see, we are still adjusting ours. Take care Jackie and Graham Usher.

    • Thank you! I am only now seeing this because as you have noticed, I am not as good at blogging as I once was.

  4. A beautiful view at Tuscany is pleasing for eyes. I enjoyed the whole blog and curious to explore the place. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful blog.
