A great idea from the new tour operators’ association Pisa Eventi e Turismo (dear God people, though… get a decent website, keep it up to date and maybe slap some English on it! This one defeats the purpose…).
Every Thursday, people can participate in a wine tour to one of the wineries of the area of Terricciola. Few people know this wine region: Pisa and its territory are certainly not famous for wine. As a matter of fact, the area is still within the Chianti denomination and the wines produced in the area belong to the Chianti Colline Pisane DOC region.

Every week the tour takes people to a different winery, so it might be nice to go more than once. The tour is very reasonably priced: it only costs 45 euros per person, which includes transportation, a visit to a winery, wine tasting and a visit to a cheese producer (Caseificio L’Avvenire) and to a bakery (Panificio il Quadrifoglio in Terricciola). Do you have any other information that is up to date with regard to the wine tours…. The dates with links are only up to June?
Hi Graham, I think it was only something they organized for the Giugno Pisano, the month of celebrations in the Pisa area. I don’t think it’s a regular thing, although it would be great if it was.
Great blog. One can not go to this region without sampling the local wine. I did and it was a treat to stop off at nearby vineyards while travelling out in the countryside!

We are on a cruise that lands in Livorno 6 June 2013 for the day.
There are 4 of us and we are hoping to take a tour of Pisa, wine country and perhaps SanGimignano
We are on the Norwegian, Epic and we arrive at 800 and depart 1900.
